Whether you are going out for a night on the town, having an intimate weekend at home or are out and about, a tan could be your favorite thing you wear. You have three choices when it comes to getting that tan. You can bake in the sun, you can lay in a tanning bed or you can opt for sunless tanning at our salon in Madison. If you are looking for the safest way to get that bronze skin that you love so much, sunless tanning is the way to go.

Spray tanning is the healthiest option for your skin. Tanning in the sun or a tanning bed takes a major toll on your skin. You can expect premature aging and you will increase your risk of skin cancer. You also have no control over the shade of your tan.

When you choose sunless tanning, you are bringing on a temporary change to the surface of your skin that will fade in time. Tanning sprays will not hurt your skin. You won’t be doing any harm as you get the bronze body that you want.

Sunless tanning also gives you more control when it comes to the shade that you prefer. You can go darker or lighter. A sunless tan allows you to get a tan as needed. You don’t have to depend on the weather or spend several days in a tanning booth. One visit to our salon in Madison and you can have the tan of your dreams.

Q: What should I wear to my appointment?
A: Loose dark clothing. The bronzer can stain clothing so wear something you don’t mind getting dirty. Also, don’t wear anything too tight fitting that can compromise your spray tan.

Q: How long will the spray tan last?
A: Your spray tan can last up to 14 days depending on your after care routine. Ask about our after care products to help with the longevity of your spray tan.

Q: How long should I wait to shower after getting my spray tan?
A: With our organic bronze solution, it is recommended that you wait 8-10 hours before you shower. However, we do offer a Rapid Development Ultra Dark solution for your convenience which allows you to shower in as little as 2 hours. For darker results, it continuously depends over a 12 hour period.

Q: How dark will my spray tan be?
A: You can go as light or as dark as you want with Madison Spray Tannings different levels of spray tans. Please take a look at our pricing tab to see the different options to include upgrade options.

Q: What am I supposed to wear during the actual spray tan?
A: At Madison Spray Tanning one of our main priorities is to make you feel comfortable. You wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable, you are in control of your tanning treatment from start to finish. We offer disposable thong underwear and disposable tube tops. If you are more comfortable wearing a swimsuit or your own under garments, just make sure you don’t mind getting tanning solution on them. We can talk about what your are looking to achieve during your consultation at your first appointment and whether or not you want tan lines. *Minors must have a parent present at the time of service.

Q: What kind of moisturizer should I use after my spray tan?
A: Make sure you apply moisturizer only AFTER the first shower. Applying lotion right after the spray tan will cause streaking. We recommend using Infinity Sun’s Hydrating Skin Extender. This product not only works specifically with your spray tan, it’s a moisturizer and extender in one. This helps the spray tan last longer! Also ask us about the award winning Glow On the Go by Infinity Sun! Don’t use lotions that contain mineral oils.

Q: Can I continue with my skincare routine after the spray tan?
A: Yes. However, please wait the necessary 8-10 hours before you wash your face (or the 2 hours for rapid development). Continue with your normal skincare routine. Keep in mind that depending on the products you use, the tan on your face will fade faster than the rest of your body. We have Glow On the Go to help with this.

Q: When should I get a manicure and pedicure?
A: Always get your manicure, pedicure, wax or body treatment done 24-48 hours BEFORE your spray tan. This tip is very important for an even spray tan. Having any one of these body treatments after a spray tan will result in removal of the tan.

Q: What products should I use to shave after a spray tan?
A: First make sure you shave the day before your spray tan. This will give the pores time to close before your spray tan. After your spray tan, use a brand new razor. We recommend using conditioner or shower gel to shave— again be careful of the ingredients. I use a clear baby shampoo to shave. Don’t press too hard and don’t shave too often. For those that have to shave every day, I REALLY recommend Glow on the Go. This will keep your spray tan looking as fresh as possible.
